Today was a day one of those days of interrupted plans. It started with kids up early = no morning run for me. Then one of my children was sick = unscheduled trip to the store for supplies. A Shop-vac hose from yesterday still wouldn’t come unclogged = job not able to be completed. And the list goes on…
That’s the thing too: I am a list maker, a planner.
I like to be a plan breaker, but strictly on my terms. I do have a big family to keep organized and a complex set of work tasks to juggle… so, for me, being a planner by nature seems to comes in handy. But today reminded me of how often my plans are not meant to be…
Over the years at Camp I have been blessed to see God work in amazing ways when my plans fell completely apart. Things that never would have happened if my plans had stood.
So today, as my day took left and right turns that didn’t match my written road map… I remembered these verses:
We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:6
When your days seem to go almost any way other than the direction you planned… seek God and allow him to show you what HE has planned.
